This year, Global Power Technologies marks 50 years of reliable power solutions that keep critical energy infrastructure operating, even in the world's most challenging environments.
Since 1975, when seven former 3M engineers brought space-tested technology to Alberta, Global Power Technologies has evolved from a specialized manufacturer to an industry leader with more than 40,000 power systems deployed across more than 55 countries. The company's systems are used to power off-grid critical industrial devices at wells, pipelines or remote telecommunication towers; and their clean air systems reduce methane emissions in the oil and gas industry.

Global Power Technologies’ journey began with thermoelectric generators (TEGs) designed for NASA’s Apollo program. Today, the company's expanded portfolio includes Solar Hybrid TEGs combining renewable energy with 99.9% reliability, MX PrimeGen systems delivering up to 6kW of continuous power, and EZ Air instrument air solutions that eliminate pneumatic methane venting at oil and gas facilities.
Following a 2019 management buyout, co-owners Laura Kennedy and Collin Newman have positioned Global Power Technologies at the intersection of infrastructure reliability and emissions reduction.
